Dating on Rothmoor Coat

Any help with this coat? It looks like it might have been shortened, does that affect the value of the coat? What kind of fur is it? I really have no idea about anything vintage! It is Rothmoor with the black dog on it.

Nice colour: looks 'late 50s to me. It might have been shortened a bit: check the hem to see - the length of the sleeves make me think that it's previous owner was just shorter than your model.

I find that there are many more of them out there than people who want to buy them - we're winding up winter here in Oz and I don't think I'll be stocking as many coats next year, unless they're nice fit and flare shapes. I'm thinking of chopping all my '50s coats into car coats for next year.
