Hi Everyone,
I feel like these have been altered and really don't know what I'm looking at. Any help appreciated!

The first one is pink silk georgette or chiffon? Is the lace good quality and how is it sewn on?
Is there something specific that leads you to think they have been altered?

I think they could both be early 1950s, but that is a bit of a guess. Nighties are hard - they can be rather timeless.

Thanks Hollis. The front lace on the neckline of that first one 'droops' over as if it used to be attached to some other fabric. I also thought the lace of the second one looked 'newer' than the garment.

The lace on the second one is almost certainly original - that's way too complicated an assembly to replace it.
On the first there may have been a sheer or lace inset across the neckline that peak of lace was mounted on- any signs of stitching or threads there?
