Dating Skirt

Hi everyone,

I have a cotton (pretty sure?), tiered skirt. Metal zipper with two plastic buttons. Length 27". I want to say 50s but lately, I've been running into a lot 70s pieces with metal zippers, and I could see this being 70s.

The button waistband strikes me as 70s. Its a great skirt!

It looks like a stage/dance costume to me, made from either random material or a stripey skirt + black fabric.
I wouldn't have said the length was long enough for either decade for a day skirt (this style of skirt from the 70's I have are extra long) but it looks as though it might have been taken up, is there a large hem?

I agree with Jonathan on a '70s dating - these "peasant" skirts were everywhere in about 1977-78. They were influenced by '40s styles but the construction indicates '70s. They came in lots of lengths, I had many in the length that yours is.
