Dating Stephane Kelian shoes

Still a newbie to dating vintage items. I believes this is 80s or 90s shoes. How do you identify difference between 80s and 90s shoes?

The square ended pointed toe re-emerges in the 90's (when there is a revival of 60's styles across fashion) and I see a lot of historical influences on shoe styles in the 90's (shapes from the early 20thC, with pointed toes, low kitten heels, louis heels). The lace up front on these is a nod to the 1920's tango shoe. So with all that similarity to 90's styles, I would say they are not 1980s shoes, but I am wary they could be newer, as I can certainly recall a trend for this lace up in the late 2000s but with a rounded toe sold to the young fashion market. I suspect this style was still being sold later to older women without the updated toe. I see the Stephane Kelian brand was not trademarked for shoes until 2007, which is surprisingly late considering their success. They are not required to use the trademark symbol but are unlikely to avoid doing so if they have it, so I would suggest your shoes were probably made before 2007.

If you can show some more photos of the construction it may help to narrow it down; can you show the soles, any markings inside the heel area? A clearer shot of the heel shape, taken profile.

Agree with Melanie - very different from '80s shoes, I'll put them into the '90s although I'd like to see the heel before narrowing it down between mid or late '90s. Agree they could also be from the 2000s but I'm thinking '90s is more likely.

It does explain why the words look pretty new. I guess I will stuff somewhere in my closet for another 8 years?

Thanks guys!
