Dating this dress with holes and no labels

Hello,

Here is another dress I want to know more about.
It has no labels, so it could be home made.
The dress is black with holes in it so you can see the pink dress beneath it.
It has a side zipper and a little belt.
How old could this dress be?

It looks 1950s to me, and it's very cute. I agree it looks home made.

I think that would be called an eyelet fabric: http://vintagefashionguild.org/fabric-resource/eyelet

I like the way it's been designed to show the pink lining through the eyelets.

Yes, eyelet! I love the contrast fabric--the eyelets I've seen are typically backed in the same color or have a matching slip.
