Hello, I got these two Pendleton coats at an estate sale. The woman was petite and had many items from the 80s. I don't know much more about her than what I saw in her closet. Initially, they looked 80s to me, but upon further research, I'm not so sure.
The 1st is a grey tweed blazer that came with a paper tag in the pocket that reads "Country Clothes Collection"
I see the trademark for Country Clothes was first used in 1963, registered in 65. I know the Woolmark was first used in 1964. The fashion guild label resource shows a similar label being from the 70s. (Other folks are selling garments with similar paper tags from 60s-70s, which I know is not the best way to decide on a garments' age. It's a pretty simple silhouette, slightly shorter than modern blazers. Random interesting note: the cuff buttons don't match, but they both look factory sewn and the black ones were not replaced.
2nd is a navy blue wool twill collarless crop jacket with a short nap. Again, I originally thought 80s, and the label also looks 80s based on the label resource examples. But the style also looks similar to that of some of Pendleton's ads from the 1960s. It's most likely from the 80s, but those ads got my hopes up!
See an ad from 1964: https://www.ebay.com/itm/301842289915
Any thoughts are appreciated! Thank you.
