Trying to find info on this beautiful Bowler hat I recently acquired. The company is H.Ulin & Co of Boston Mass, but cannot find any info online.
The union made label reads,'North American Hatters Union' which in my estimation would pre date 1934 because that is when the N.A.H.U merged with the Millinery union.
Also, there is a size label with a Danbury, Conn printed on it which is interesting because of the U.S.Supreme court case involving the Danbury Hatters.

Any info?

Thanks in advance,
Thomas

Bowler hats are nearly impossible to date by style because they didn't change much, although the taller crowns are pre 1900, and the really hard felt is pre 1930s but they were still making bowlers into the 1970s if not 1980s. The hatter's union label would suggest to me 1920s - because I don't think I have ever seen any clothing label referring to any union before then and your research about them merging in 1934 puts a firm end date to the hat's age.
