Dating Vintage Shoes?

Hi there! I love this site! I'm hoping that I can qualify to be a member, but I don't have anywhere NEAR the knowledge it seems you all have.

I'm doing some research on some vintage shoes/clothing that I want to put on Ebay...and could use some expert opinions-

Here's the beginning-I bought these great vintage shoes at an estate sale, and am not sure the era-

They look like 40's from what I can tell from the heels...

All but one of the 9 pairs (not all pics posted) were bought at Dayton's Oval room or "sub-deb" shop. BUT the labels are "The Dayton Company", not Dayton's or Dayton HUdson.

Any ideas for me?

Thanks!

Gaw-jus!
I would describe the first pair as peeptoe platform slingbacks.
The other two are babydoll style peeptoes.
What size (she asks hopefully)?

I can't count...6 pairs...plus a pair that got in there that were from Wards...lol...

All of them are smaller-5 1/2 to 6 1/2...

The other 3 pairs are all velvet? suede? Really classy...

OMG--these are gorgeous, and damn it all, my size.... Slobber, slobber.... What a great lot of shoes, and they look to be in really great condition!

But, thankfully (since I would spend all my money on these), they all look to have higher heels than I can wear, 'cept the first ones--how high is the heel on the slingbacks?

I have no clue how to measure them...but between 2-3 inches...2 from the inside to the instep...3 from the very back...

I'm going to start the listings at $9.99, my usual...so you could maybe get them cheap!

Whenever I see gorgeous 40's shoes they're all to small for me, and I'm only a UK 5.. found some a fair recently, some gorgeous navy suede babydolls in almost new condition.. UK3 and just tiny. Boo.
