Decade? Fordan wool mohair coat

Earlier this year I picked up this vintage Fordan wool mohair coat, because (1) it is such a beautiful and high quality piece of clothing, and (2) it was only $5 at a local thrift store!

The tag says "Made in West Germany," so it must be from (approximately) sometime between 1960s-1990s. My gut is telling me 1970s because it is plaid. It also has that 1970s-does-1940s aesthetic, if that makes sense. But ultimately, I'm not positive when it's from. There is no RN, but it does have the Woolmark on a tag. There is a seven-digit number next to the Woolmark, but I don't know what that means or the significance of it.

Any input or insight regarding the decade would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Thank you both for your replies. I will do some more digging into the Woolmark. When I researched the Woolmark previously it pointed me toward the late 70s, which helped formulate my guesstimate about the era. I'll see what I can find this time around though. Thank you again!

80s was my first thought too. The Woolmark can help with dating, as in the Pure New Wool symbol was first used internationally in 1964, so it can't be before then, but as far as I'm aware it hasn't really changed over the years and so could be anytime after. The label resource shows the Pure New Woolmark spanning various decades. As mentioned, the care symbols can be really useful to help narrow dates down further. I would estimate the date as early to mid eighties, as the tumble dry symbol was introduced in Europe in 1985, and it is not on your label.
