Designer/maker ID on cocktail dress

I have a gorgeous silk flocked 50's-60's cocktail dress that came with a matching shawl. The only tag I can find inside says "Made in Switzerland for Lord & Taylor". Does anyone perhaps recognize the fabric? It's a pretty distinctive champagne silk with black flocked orchids. I know it's a long shot, but doesn't hurt to try to see if it can be linked to a specific maker

Also- There are a couple of small stains that I'm pretty sure I could get out, but given the color and texture combo, I'm afraid the black flocking may bleed onto the silk. Any recommendations?

I think you are right to be concerned about the dye bleeding, and I would also be concerned about creating tide rings on the satin. Do you have a local reputable and skilled drycleaner? Some one who specializes in wedding dresses, for example?

I don't have a dry cleaner that I go to, but finding one that specializes in wedding gowns sounds like a great idea. I'll have to check it out.

This is a really good dress. Are the black orchids really flocked, or part of the fabric—velvety?

I assumed it was flocked because the flowers are velvety while the rest is a silk satin but now that I look up the actual definition of flocking, that would indicate that the term only applies to when the fuzziness is applied to the material, and is not an actual inherent part of the base material. Upon close inspection, this material appears to be the latter (although I'm not 100% certain on it). What would this be called- just silk satin with silk velvet texture in parts?

Thanks Maggie, it does look very much like velour de sabres. I steamed it out yesterday and it already looks nicer (although it will still need that visit to the dry cleaner). I tried to get a closer view of the fuzzy orchids, see below. Basically, just the flower is fuzzy, the leaves and stems are smooth like the rest of the dress.
