Determing Fur and Anything Else Regarding this Piece

Please take a look at these photos and let me know the kind of fur and anything else that might be useful. I'm excited about it being Oscar de la Renta, but I don't know enough to have a clue.

That is very pretty. The fur type is mink and it looks like it dates to the 80s.

Looking at other furs, I thought it might be Sable. How can I tell the difference?

Sable fur has longer guardhair, your fingers sink right into it, it's very dense, yet it's very light. The color is similar between some mink and some sable furs that are both brown but the other characteristics and texture of the two furs are not the same.
If you look at the photos below I have shown a sable fur collar and I have also shown my fingers pressed into sable fur. Not sure if your untrained eye can see the difference between your mink fur and the sable fur on the collar I have shown but you can see in the 2nd photo that I was able to completely submerge my finger tips into the sable fur so much that my finger nails were not even showing. This does not happen with mink.
