Did I ask about this velvet jacket in the past?

Confusion.
My consignor was thinking this jacket is '40s. She's a woman who knows fashion history, so now I'm wondering--did I ask here for input or somewhere else, because the consensus when I asked was that this might be '60s?

I might have asked on the VC & A board--whatever the case--I don't remember. However, I do recall qualified dealers weighed in and said '60s.

What are your thoughts? I'm curious and would like to think my consignor knows her stuff because...um...well, she does. She hadn't mentioned this discrepancy to me until we got together last night. Now, I'm really interested to reopen the discussion to get a more firm idea about the age of this piece.

Help me, Obi Wans.

I don't have the reference at hand, but I remember looking up dates for Bullocks, and I remember that they closed in the 1960's. Don't take my word, just a suggestion for further research. Neither the shape nor the colors look 1940's to me.

Thank you! I am confident now about '60s dating and so is my consignor.

Now I'll post something that really is 40s.

Thanks! I am sad this isn't my size. I would probably wear it a lot over a simple cocktail dress or with a black skirt. Maybe even dark jeans when I don't feel like dressing up.
