Difference between chenille and boucle knit?

I have a 50s knit garment whose label calls it “chenille” though it looks like boucle to me. What’s the difference? Thanks.

Hi Jen, this does look like chenille, which has bulkier bits around the surface of the yarn. Bouclé has rings or loops around the yarn. They do have a similar look!
