This is a Dior cape from 1956 which I bought from a VFG member. The photo is in my new book Tailoring Techniques. It is one of several designs in the book which came from VFG members.

. She said that about half of the Haute Couture things we saw in various exhibitions in London last week. Except that some of these "simple" things take a loooooong time to make. Good to know about the book, this sounds what I should get for her!
