Dior dress help

Hi there,
I'm new, and I'm hoping to find some help with a Dior dress I've had for some years.
The label says Christian Dior London, and from what I understand, this is a boutique designation. It also has a number printed on the side of the label, as well as the same number on a small hand-written label under the zipper.
The dress is a full length dark blue silk chiffon, silk lined, with CB zip. It has a matching flower-decorated sash (?).
I'd love to know more about the era of the dress and whether more information can be found about the dress from the number. Any other input is very welcome.
I seem to be having trouble posting my image, although it's under the size req.. Any tips?

Thanks!

Christian Dior London was a couture workroom. Since it has a #, yours is probably a couture garment. I don't know when it closed.

This is similar to the Balenciaga designs for Eisa and the Sp. client--not as avant garde. They are generally nice couture techniques. The English lady would not have made 3-4 trips to Paris or spent 3-4 weeks having a dress made.

By contrast, Dior NY is very high-end rtw, not couture.

Hmm, no, no shoulder pads, and no sign of them. Would they still have used a metal zipper in the 80s?
Now I'm wondering if maybe it's 70s, though. The long straight line, and the flower sash.
Are there any good resources out there for Dior images?

Don't forget that the English customer bought more understated designs and didn't wear avant garde. Many expected to wear that garments for 10 years and thought nothing of buying a simple day dress to wear when playing bridge.
