Diorling London Polka Dot Woollen Skirt

Hello
I’m a collector of beautiful vintage, I do sell some too. I loved the look of this fabulous polka dot skirt and when I saw it had a Diorling label I had to buy it.
I wonder if anyone can help dating this long A line maxi skirt with a Diorling by Christian Dior - London label and another hand written label with 8076 next to it.
It’s made of a loosely woven what I believe to be wool fabric and is fully lined and quite heavy. It looks very similar to a photo I’ve found in Getty images of a Diorling Collection. The construction is interesting in that it has two hidden pockets on the front, and at the back of the skirt are two zips on either side of the seam - metal zips and hooks and eyes on the waistband. I’ve never seen that before.
After doing some research it looks to be from the Marc Bohan era but I can’t find any references to this particular skirt.
Any help or information would be very much appreciated.
Thanks so much.

Per Shrimpton Couture:

"The Diorling label was introduced at the Christian Dior London boutique on Conduit Street in 1968. It was meant as a ready to wear label and to appeal to his younger clientelle primarily in London. The name came from the perfume of the same moniker that launched in 1963. The line was created and designed by Jorn Langberg, Artistic Director of Christian Dior London. Pieces under this label stopped being produced in 1973. The number on the label most likely denoted a custom order."

FAB skirt!!

Hi Donna
Thank you so much for your reply - so helpful. I love the possibility that the skirt could be a custom order. Certainly it’s been hand finished. It would have been a very stylish addition to a London fashionista’s wardrobe in the late 60s/early 70s. The two zips at the back is intriguing me so I’ll do some further research.
Thanks again! Jo x
