Many of you probably remember a wonderful wool crepe dress that Kate from Perth, Australia posted about in early December - on this thread:

I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I sent Kate a U2U and purchased it. It arrived in less than a week. I absolutely love it - it fits really well and is even better than I thought it would be!! I wore it to a party last night. The color is darker than the photo on the left - and it is not as sheer. The photo on the right is too dark overall , but the color of the dress is closer.

I received lots of really nice comments and compliments on the dress. It's my new fav!!!

Thank you, Kate!

Wow - what luck! It's such a nice dress, and it fits you so well! I know why I have told myself I need to look for more "day dresses" (as in "no evening dresses" - have more of those than I ever get to wear anyway) for myself when shopping vintage. There's just no better way to dress nicely!

Thanks -

I am absolutely thrilled with it! I wore a vintage fur clip, earrings and bracelet with it - all '40's and mostly rose gold. I am so pleased that the dress fits so well. It fits smaller than it's flat measurements - probably because of the ruching. I was concerned it would be a little too big and if it were any smaller it would be too small!

It could have been made for you Linn! I do remember this dress very well and you look wonderful in it!

Congratulations!

Thanks!

The flowers are bougainvillea. They bloom year round - I have a hedge of it in my front yard. The photo was taken in front of a friend's house last Sunday night.

The pin is a '40's Trifari dress clip.
