I swear.. I can't get the darn song out of my head now!!

I only need minor help on this one. First... what should I call the skirt treatment? About the only thing I can think of is that it has wings. I think this must be where MC hammer got the idea for those pants!

And also... I'd like a date pinpoint. Late 70's is about as close as I can get... cause I was only about 7 years old :P

Oh.. and since I've been having color issues lately... what colors do you see on this???:puzzled:

I can see it just fine. and i am trying to remember what those are called. to me, they are like what they would call "harem pants"

Oh yes, the skirt say's <i>it's Hammer Tiime</i>! But the dress definitely pre-dates MC Hammer - I think you're right on with late 70's ('though I was just a teenager, and my high school? Well, it wasn't no disco, that's for sure) ~

I wanted to try and pinpoint the date because this still has it's original store tag on it with a price of $60 or $68 or something like that (there's a tag hole punched at the top of the second number.. but it's something ROUND!) and I wanted to translate that into today's money.

I took the middle ground and translated into 1978 $$. Looks like it's something around $170 by today's standards. Yikes!

Harem skirt...hmmmm it sounds better than saying it has wings! Thanks ;)

I would say 1979 as thats when the sequin boob tube tops got fashionable. It also has the skirt that looks like a forerunner of the puffball skirt.

I've never heard of a puffball skirt? Enlighten me, please!

Thanks for the date, Barbara! See.. I was about 8 or 9.. so no sequin boob tube tops for me! :D

The puffball skirts started around 1979 in the Uk and during the eighties became very much the thing promoted by desingers like Westwood. The skirt was knee length or above and puffed out looked a bit like wearing a mushroom lol. They were highly unflattering but a few women wore them regardless. I was not one of them , I never wore the sequin boob tunes either as they really did not flatter the bust but flattened it!!!
