do these \"Alligator\" and \"Foxama\" tags mean anything to anyone? +dating on faux fur coat?

They were on the hanger with a vintage faux fur coat. The hanger looks as old as the coat and labels. But because they weren't actually attached to the coat, I'm not sure if they actually belong to it. The coat is pretty much mint, so I'm wondering if these tags have been with the coat all along and it's never been worn. The coat has a Tissavel label (which refers to the faux fur it's made from), and a care label, saying made in England, but no other brand.

Anyway, if they mean anything to anyone I'd be glad to hear it! Alligator rings a bell with me somewhere, but Foxama Model I've never heard of.

Hmmmm... curious. What size does the coat itself say and do either of the hang tags match the coat's size? Not that it would mean the label belongs to the coat. Usually a label matching the hang tag would appear inside the garment.

Looking forward to finding out more.

the coat has no size label but could well be a (UK) 14, (which is on the Alligator tag). I would say it's too big for a 10.

Here's the coat itself and it's labels - I'd be glad of anyone's dating opinion too. I do know Tissavel have been around since 1953 - they don't make coats themselves, just the faux fur. I suspect the care label makes it much later than 50s though? It's very well made - check out the grosgrain ribbon edging inside the pocket, and as I said, appears unworn.

I've just sold an Alligator leather coat, mid-late 60s, bottle green leather and really nice quality. Was also Made in England, and purchased here, so I'd guess it was the same maker as your label. I'd say the Alligator label pre-dates the coat by a fair margin judging by those care labels. HTH.
