Do you have a shoe length/size chart you trust?

I found these two (among others), and they are so different from one another. Is there any sort of standard?

I don't. but that's in part, because i wear a variety of sizes depending on the manufacturer. i typically wear a 7.5 or 8, and sometimes even an 8.5.

it also depends on how wide it is, and how pointy the toes are (or not).

kinda like clothing. in my closet, i currently wear sizes 6, 8, 10 and 12, as well as M and L. thank heavens for measurements.

The one marked FPO looks like the correct one to me since shoe measurements are based on 1/3 inches. The half measurements have been rounded up or down, but otherwise, that one looks correct. The first one is overly simplified. Problem is, some manufacturers are playing with size definitions, like dress manufacturers have been doing for years until we ended up with the incredibly stupid '0' dress size! Although the 3D nature of shoe design has always been a problem as a well-fitted shoe is more than just length and width, girth and height are as important.

I agree Mary, measurements are what matter!

Thank you Jonathan, for pointing me to the better of these charts.

I would say NO! The top chart is off at the larger end (a US 10 is a solid 10 1/2" for me) and the lower chart is off at the smaller end (a US 5 being a standard 9" on average).
There's also no such measurement as 10 3/7" as per the FPO chart - this sort of thing drives me nuts - it's almost as bad as putting 10.38 inches.
This is what I commonly find with all the shoe charts I see - they have taken a medium size and sized up or down by a set amount or percentage that just doesn't tally with reality, so that one portion is always incorrect.
I have my own charts in my head- one for round toed, one for pointed. But it also varies by heel height on occasion - such as a very high arch.
