Do you recognize this bag?

I would appreciate any information about this leather bag that I picked up this weekend. It is about 17" wide x 11" high, has an APX nylon zipper across the length of the top, a small zippered inside pocket, and an outside pocket that snaps shut (see snap photo).

Inside the outside pocket, by the snap, is the only bit of label I found, as can be seen in the photo.

The woman from whose house it came is about 58-60 years old and a fashionable dresser. She is an interior decorator and apparently shopped at estate sales for items for clients' homes, so I don't know if this is an older item from another sale, or something she bought new. It did have two plane tickets to Texas in it, so I was inclined to think it is something she got there.

Any ideas about it? Age? Origins?

The leather is fairly thin, right?
To me, it looks like the India import leather bags that were popular in the early 80s, and I have seen tourist ones so that's not out of the question. A friend of mine used to have a Las Vegas one, but it was made in India. The color and sheen of this one looks just like it, though the shape was different.

Thanks for the help. Yes, I would say the leather is thinner than some of the leather bags I have here and your observations about its possible origins are completely plausible.

I have a simular bag but no zipper. I just think it is a souvenir bag. I thibnk my bga is older. I would guess made in India or Mexico.... I thought it a weird bag.

What Eileen said.... I had one made in India a couple years ago, different theme, but same construction and ovearall look. I sold it and am sorry now that I did.
