Does anyone have ANY info on this sun suit and label?

Hey Melody! Go back to the link with the photos ... there are more showing the side, back, label, and details of the pattern.

It has "bloomers" underneath the skirt. Lined in the same material. It is not cotton ... kinda slinky and stretchy. Halter at neck has 2 mother of pearl buttons. Ties around bust. More mother of pearl buttons down back of skirt. Label is "Sun Fashions - Best's"

As you probably discovered, there are millions of hits on "Sun Fashions," but so far I found one 1957 ad that says:

"I...just finished trying on some authentic Hawaiian fun clothes made in Honolulu...Seems to me the bracing warmth of the sun still lingers in these playtimers by SUN FASHIONS of Hawaii...But back to SUN FASHIONS in red or navy printed in white, or white printed in navy. Sarong bathing suits, sundresses, skirts, shirts..."

shesabettie, I think there was some discussion on that playsuit recently on the trade side (of the VFG forums). I think it was owned by a VFG member, who was selling it - the thread started with a discussion on a '70s cut out dress and a member posted a pic to your playsuit. From memory, I think it was decided that it was '40s (the fabric print certainly looks like it).

It's a great set, and I would agree that it's a playsuit or romper suit.

Thanks, Susan! It is pretty awesome and I'm super happy with it ... THANK YOU!

Yep, Ang, you're exactly right! Got it from Susan at NorthStarVintage ... neither one of us knew much or could find much on it so that's why I thought maybe one of you out in vintage land could help. Guess I should have known she would have thought to contact you, too! Silly Jenn.:duh2:

Who is Nicole? Sounds like I need to talk to her! Thanks for all of your responses, too.

go to www loc dot gov/pictures/resource/gsc.5a25052/

Sorry I am not allowed to post a link.
That page will take you to a photo of a store display that looks totally 50's to me.
At the top of the page is an "Ask A Librarian" link. Maybe they can tell you more.

Super Cute Sunsuit!
