Does anyone know if these 2 books are for pattern making? (pic heavy)

From Elganza in Venice, all written in Italian.
The red cover seems to show patterns and the white one shows models with designer names ect. (Muir, Chanel and many more)
I think the books go together but the outfits are different in each.
There is a receipt in one that dates to 1974/

WOW! That's an amazing book.
As a patternmaker myself- yes that's what this is. I cant speak Italian at all, but the diagrams are certainly showing how to do the style lines on the pattern, I wonder if more detailed information/instructions are at the back of the book?.
You would need more info that's what's shown here to actually make up the patterns , unless its to give you a guide to how to interpret the styles??
A great find!

Thanks Gayle,
I took a couple of pictures from the back of the Red book.
- On the back, inside cover (last picture), looks like it might be something?
- The picture of the bust (1st picture), I think might be the originator of the method/idea? Emilio Vianelli
- There is a order form insert (second picture) that shows a No. 3 book like the No. 1 that I have.

The White book only shows the live models (over 100), with occasional pattern pieces shown.

Hello ilaria, Would I ever appreciate you taking a closer look at the writing I have of the back, inside cover.
Do they seem to give the instructions for pattern making?
(the last picture shows the full page)
I hope they are clear enough, if not will take more.
Thank you so much.

It looks like a course in pattern-making to me. I googled Vianelli, there were a few hits on ebay Italy and abebooks etc. It looks like this may have been in print for several years, as there seem to be different issues around. On the order insert, isn't there also a picture of your second book? Maybe that was thought to serve as inspiration. The measuring thingies (sorry - don't know what you call them in English) shown on that order card and on some of the pages seem to have been part of the package too - one of the Ebay offers says that these were originally included but are missing from what I understand.

Thanks Karin.
You are probably right. Lutterlohl (sp) is what I'm familiar with and I have sold those books without the tools and most Lutterlohl listings are sold without.

This is the translation of one of the Ebay Italy listings - I wonder if there is enough info in the book to make up the patterns or is it an altogether different concept -

Vianelli ELEGANCE

MANUAL LEARN HOW TO MAKE YOUR MODELS

IF YOU STILL YOUR OLD TEAM BUT YOU HAVE LOST THE MANUAL

THIS METHOD OF DETECTION OF MODELS
NOW YOU CAN REREAD ALL INSTRUCTIONS THAT MAYBE YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN

IN THIS AUCTION'S 'ONLY THE BOOK
THE TEAMS DID NOT HAVE MORE '

I can't find anything about Elganza though. (Quite possibly defunct)
At least with Lutterloh you can still purchase their tools from their website.
Thanks for your help.

Hi for what I could see picture shown size tables ...useful to find some measures without using of "squadre" (I don't know the English translation..maybe square rules?') so whitout this tools you could obtain all the measures..In this images I don't see instruction for specific patterns. Do you have others pages?
The name is "Eleganza" no Elganza
I found many results on Google, Viannelli devised a special method of cutting and sewing and He wrote some books
