Does Anyone Know this Label?

This coat (thinking 70s) is in perfect
condition, worsted pure virgin wool with a fox collar that
is just basted to the notched lapel collar. It is princess seamed and I actually like it better without the belt, the only problem is that it has fairly substantial belt loops that could leave
a mark if they were removed.

The label is Roth-Stern Ltd by Sam Roth.

Is anyone familiar with this label, and/or have any info on it?
I've googled and visimo'd but could not find anything.

My gut feeling is that its a Canadian manufacturer out of Montreal but I can't say why I feel that.

No help I'm afraid Sue - just wanted to say it's a great coat! I like it both ways equally (beltwise) myself.

I have never seen that label on a Montreal coat and I have seen a LOT of Montreal coats...so I'm not sure it's from here.

I know this is an ancient thread but I just dug it up looking for info on the company that made this beautiful coat. They apparently were based in Thornhill, Ontario, although the Canada Business Registry has two entries for ROTH-STERN LIMITED, one of which doesn't have a location. One was registered in 1972 and the other in 1991 (after the first expired?). The 1991 entry lists the location as Thornhill.

ETA: I think this coat is 70s.
