Does anyone know what kind of leather this is?

I know nothing about leather, but this seems like something uncommon. It's fairly thin and soft. I guess at the end of the day it doesn't matter, but it would be a nice detail to add to the listing:

....well. so it does, after a bit of googling eel skin. Knock me down with a feather.

Eel is wonderfully soft, even with the ridged texture. Eel farms were prolific in Korea in the 80s, tons of rabbit and eel goods came out of Korea, then!

My pleasure! I love the “exotic” skins, it turns out using them for fashion isn’t nearly as harmful as the mammals that used to be common. Jackie O drove the near extinction of leopard.

I agree - eel. It's also surprisingly hard-wearing. I have an eelskin purse and it has held up since forever.
