Inherited this rectangular wooden box purse. It has two pieces to the lid with a metal handle on each side and the metal clasp. The inside has a gold lining couched with beads and a Walborg/made in Japan/by hand label. I can't find anything online about it. Help!

I know! I haven't found anything like it. The only beads are on the lining, and they're sparse, like couching. It belonged to either my MIL or her mother, I don't know which.

Interesting bag, very unusual. My guess would be circa 1950s. The Walhorg Corporation, was a maker and importer of high‐fashion handbags, until the company was sold in 1974. Wahlborg was founded by Hilde Weinberg, in New York City, in the 1940s. Originally hand-beaded in Belgium, France, Italy, and West Germany, production moved to Japan, likely in the early 1950's, and finally, to Hong Kong and Taiwan in the late '50's and early '60's.
