Does anyone recognize this Positivity Ellyn dress?

Hi!

I managed to snag this Positivity Ellyn dress at a second hand for $8, it doesn't seem to ever have been worn and still have the original tags on it.

I've tried to find it online since it seems to be old, but in perfect condition. But it's nowhere to be found.

Do anyone recognize it? Positivity Ellyn seems to be 80s clothing, but could it be newer? And was it solely produced and sold in the US? It was found in Sweden.

Any sort of help/tips would be greatly appeciated.

Hi Desmos, and welcome to the VFG forums!

I've had a couple of Positively Ellyn dresses over the years, all 80s. If you look up the union tag in the VFG Label respurce under ILGWU, you will see that that particular red white & blue one was used from 1974 to 1995, meaning the dress should not be any newer than mid 1990s. It's hard to see many details on your dress, but cool that it is New Old Stock, and I think it's safe to date it to 1980s.

I added some more pictures with details incase you wish to see, Im quite amazed to find an 80s dress from the US here in Sweden for just 8 bucks in this condition. Sadly some threads has been cut on the rose, but that shouldn't be hard to repair.
