Does this Emma Domb bomb? Hit or miss?

Sooooooooooo, next time I see a "big name" item, I'll use the whole, "think twice" scheme. Anyhoo, I saw this on our trip to Chi-town and nearly fainted. The tag had me SO excited - I'd never seen an Emma Domb before!
In retrospect........ I think it's really cool & dig the bright pink color, but I feel like this thing is NOT going to sell :(
Any input?

Pink sells. period end. Or so has been my track record. I have never had something pink NOT sell. knock on wood. Emphasis BOWS and empire waist.

I would use the dress without the over jacket in the gallery and main photos. I would steam/iron/fluff the jacket though as it looks quite wrinkled.

hmm...maybe it needs some accessories.

Patent,

I'm really nervous when it comes to ironing stuff. I've had HORRIBLE experiences.
I tried steaming this thing for about 30 mins in the shower AND I threw it in the dryer for like 10 mins - that's the best it could come out.
Unfortunately, I won't have time to re-take any pics this weekend either :(
Hopefully the Domb & Pink will work it's charm.
Of course, this could be the very first time something pink NOT sell, or so would be my luck :hysterical:

Oh gosh!! I love that coat!!!!!!! I'd buy it just for the pink coat!!!!!!!!

So Maureen,

Should I tell you that someone else refered to it as a "what the heck is that mumu thing over the dress?"
AHHHHH ha ha ha! ;)

Emma Domb 50s and earlier sell (Emma Domb Partylines label is particularly good). Later Emmas can be a bit more difficult and won't generate the high
end bids that the earlier ones do unfortunately.

I agree with Chris. Pink and HOT pink at that is a real plus. The
empire waist relatively form fitting sheath style is flattering also.

I would concentrate on the dress and 'add' the coat as a bonus.

Thanks Sue!
As much as I like to buy good stuff, I think if I had a chance to do it over again, I would have left this one in Chi-town :wow:

i wouldn't have. To my customers, pink=GOLD. the label is just the icing on the cake versus the major sought after time frame by collectors. The quality won't be a gamble :)

Hell babe, then give me the coat!!!!!!!!!:hysterical:

I actually think the dress is really cute and should do quite well for you with the prom crowd.

I think the prob I have with the coat is it takes the youth appeal away from the dress and makes it more of a 'mature' outfit. At this time of year,
I think 'youth appeal' may be better to concentrate on.

well..back at the time it might not be seen as mature. I think that current trends are either to have a small bolero or to be very bohemian looking. or just keep your arms bare. The long coat is very formal in comparison. If it were to be worn during a transitional season, a gal may love it to protect her dress, but once at the event, would remove it, unlike other dress/jacket pairings i have seen.

Aw, thanks everyone for making me feel a bit more encouraged about it. I swear, between hauling the 2 wedding dresses out, then this one, I nearly lost it yesterday. And to think I even bought yet ANOTHER prom dress the day before. I thought the WHOLE point was to get rid of stuff ;)
Without the jacket it reminds me of something a young gal would wear, with the jacket it gives me a Mother of the Bride vibe.

I think the coat has a very 'baby doll' look to it!

And I was just thinking the same thing Vix, "Hmmm, I thought she was quiting selling?"

:spin:
