Does this look a little like a Claire McCardell Monastic Dress?

It's by Junior Sophisticates. I'm not sure if the connection should or could be made, since I can't find my photo of the McCardell:

The belt and gathers are stitched in place in back, and then loose in front, to arrange as you please.

Nothing to offer, other than I like the splashing of color to an otherwise neutral dress there, with the red lippy, shoes, bow and gloves.

Thank you for that Brenda, I believe the photo I have seen was also 50s and also had long sleeves. Maybe mine's the summer, junior, cheaper knockoff version. ;)

Not, too much cheaper. Junior Sophisticates was one of the higher quality junior lines. It was the first Anne Klein label.
