Dolcis for Bally tan peep toe shoes

I've just received this lovely pair of bally shoes, made for Dolcis I think in the late 40's. I can't find a specific reference of when the two companies were working together like this (only seen two late fifties posters with new look style shoes) though I know they were seperate, then in the same umbrella company, and then Dolcis was sold again.

Are there any indications that would date this more specifically?
Has the sole been re-done or was that the original method (with an 'over-lapping' piece)?
What do you call this clam style bow on the front?

I've found an advert with a very similar pair on the advertising adverts website though their's is an evening style it has the same decoration. It doesn't give specific dates but I'm not registered so can't view the full pic.

I don't have any info to offer but wanted to say: those are fantastic shoes! (I wish I had smaller feet so that I could find 40s shoes that fit my feet.)

Yes I did mean that one thankyou.
I know it's free to register but in their Privacy policy it says that the "AA may use Client information for purposes of direct marketing" and "Client information may be disclosed as part of any merger, sale of company images or acquisition" with no opportunity to opt out of any of this.

Gosh! I hadn't noticed that when I signed up. I haven't even ever had an email from them. I always give fake phone numbers when signing up for that kind of thing, I've now given them a fake address too.

I couldn't understand why they needed you to register when they gave everything for free anyway so had a look. Always read the small print ;)

I've sent them an e-mail asking if I can opt out if I register. If I remember correctly they do have to offer this by law anyway...
