Dr Marten boot resource?

Helloo,

My Mum bought these DM's in the 90s, and I'm now looking to sell them- never seen another pair with the heel and chunky sole before though, so I was wondering if there's some kind of collector's reference online that anyone knows of? Gave it a google and it's only really coming up with modern styles..

I don't know of a collectors reference source. Are you just trying to date them exactly? You could always email the company.

Hm, well there damn well should be! It would be really interesting. I actually only live round the corner from the Holts boot store (or British Boot Co as it's known now) which was the first shop to stock DM's, so if they can't help me no-one will! I'm just stuck in today waiting for a delivery so was hoping to be able to find something out while sitting on my bum

A similar pair sold in the early 90's, here in Portland. 91-93ish.

I was living in London in '93 when that style was released: I didn't like them and didn't expect them to be a success, so I'm not surprised they didn't last for long: a year or two perhaps.

Ah thanks Nicole, first hand info! Yeah they're pretty ugly. Although I've seen so many of the *trendy kids* wearing similar boots recently, I'm amazed with high street fashion right now..
