Dress dating help needed - 30\'s?

I just got this black drop waist dress. It feels like acetate, and has metal snap closures up the side. I'm guessing early 1930's? Anyone have any other ideas?
Thank you! :)

Yes this could be very late 1920's and is typical of a dress worn by a domestic or hotel/cafe worker. Showing the closures might help and as always the inside construction. Is that ruching on the bodice behind the bow?

Very interesting as I immediately thought Gosford Park when I saw the dress photo ~ I think it was set in 1932 or thereabouts.

Right now I only have this quick pic of the side closures, but i will try and get some better ones. There is a little bit of ruching/gathering behind the bow....
