Dress Era - ? Late 30’s - 50’s ?

When I slipped this dress on my mannequin I thought I was photographing something from the early 50’s.

Then the quality of the beading made me think more of 20’s workmanship... and the lines started to look more and more like 30’s. Darned black is hard to photograph. It has a side metal zipper and (is this a good clue?) the end of each sleeve has a small three inch zipper to make it snug on the wrist.

There are satin shoulder pads with loops for the bra strap and small loops for the (missing) belt. It’s a crepe like material - pinked seams. Thanks for any opinions you might be willing to share. It’s a nice dress - kind of understated elegance?

I'm no expert, but the dress, with a few exceptions, looks quite similar to one I have and had asked about a while back. It was circa late 40s, early 50s. Would you be able to lighten the wide shot photograph?
