Dress Era?

This dress is made of a very light weight sheer material. It buttons up the front and has no tags. It falls low mid-calf (on me). The skirt s gathered, but that is not elastic. It has small shoulder pads made of the same material. Initially I was thinking 40's ... then maybe 50s ... or 30s???

The sleeve, being almost sleeveless (and possibly dolman?), as well as the slimmer skirt (not the excess fabric of the post-war era!), leads me towards late 40s/early 50s. I can't quite get a view of the collar shape. Is the fabric done in a plisse? The 80s also totally ripped off this style, so if it's nylon or polyester, I would check the contents of the shoulder pads for 40s or 80s!

Show us the shoulder pads, inside seams and buttons up close? I'm thinking 1940s...

I am seeing '30s - longer length - no zipper - small scale floral, pearl buttons. I would like to see the shoulder pads and inside seams, etc., too.

I vote for determining fibre, maybe a burn test? A nylon will not be any earlier than post-war. Personally, I associate these styles with the small square collar as being late '40s to early '50s. Size and shape of shoulder pad can help determine age.
