Hello. My name is Denise and I am so thankful that I have discovered your site. I was recently trying to learn more about a dress I picked up in the UK when I was backpacking through Europe in the 1980's. I got it at a vintage shop and I have treasured it for many years. I could never fit into it...lol...but I always admired the design. It feels as crisp and new as the day it was made. The label (photo below) is Mascotte. The dress appears to be 1940's in design, and it's grey flannel....it has a little bit of a "Mad Men" vibe to it. It also comes with a black leather belt which I did not include in the photo because it made it more difficult to see the waist details, but you can see small belt loops in the photo. Would anyone know anything about a UK dressmaker called Mascotte and the approximate date this dress would have been made/created for the market? Thank you very much for any help you may be able to provide.
