DRESS WANTED

Hello, I'm new here, but I'm reading this forum for a few months. I decided to register, because I'm vintage lover and now I'm in need. This summer my sister is getting married and I will be her only bridesmaid. On wedding I'm supposed to wear plain dress, but later, on reception I really, really want to put on dress like this

I have talked to my sister about this idea and she loves it, but I can't find similiar one anywhere. Florar pattern could be more delicate, but I want to have big flowers and the same cut as on the photo. Does anyone know where can I get dress like this? I live in the Netherlands and it would be awesome to get dress in here but online shops are okay, too.
And by the way, what do you think about this dress?

It's adorable. Size will be one hurdle. If you are medium to small, it will be easier to find something. I can suggest that a foundation garment, such as a bustier or Merry Widow, will help you fit in this period style. I don't know any shops in the Netherlands, but there are a lot of shops in the UK that you can order from - the shipping may be better than from the USA. Here is a directory of VFG member shops, both online and brick and mortar:

And some search terms for you might be: "1950s, full skirt, floral, cocktail, party dress"

Happy Hunting!

It's a wonderful dress. I'm in the UK and will keep my eyes open for something - please tell us your measurements. You'll be best off trying to find something within the EU, so you won't have any issues with customs.

I do agree about the need for the right underwear - a bullet bra at least will help you fill such a dress in the right way.

Thanks for all your replies! What's about my measurements - I'm kinda small. :) In European size I'm XS: between 34 and 36 (UK: between 6 and 8).
Breast circumference: 82 cm
Waistline: 65 cm
Hips circumference: 90 cm
Height: 159 cm.

I have thought, that I will get it tailor-made, but it's also hard to find similiar cloth. I love webpages you posted and I will be looking for something, but if you will find similiar dres, let me know :) Thanks!

Such a pretty dress! I have an 80's floral polished cotton in a 50's silhouette. It's longer, at tea length but you can always shorten it if it works for you. It has the same neckline and a deep "V" back. I just got it in so I don't have photos of it. If you are interested, please send me a message.

you may like this one at my etsy shop :)
