Dressing Gown - 1940\'s?

Just would like some dating help with this pretty dressing gown. It has tiny pearl colored buttons on the neck and sleeves, and the button loops are delicate & look to be made from thread.
I'm thinking 40's....what does everyone think?

Does anyone have any ideas about the fabric? I'm not 100% sure on it.
It feels silky, but not as soft as other silk & satin garments that I have....
It's also really thin...almost transparent

my first thought was earlier than 40's also

that lace on the collar is delicious
