:help: I'm unsure if this kimono style dressing gown is vintage or a 2008 1 of a billion knockout as so many around. It wld be nice if it was vintage but as I love the colours I'll probably end up keeping this one for myself!

ps If I were to go with my gut instinct I would lean towards vintage...and if it was I'd say..early 50s? (I'm trying to have a go at guessing!).

If you're thinking of flock or lame, then it's not those fabrics tho do look so from pics? Its silk & silk machine embroidered and has a silk lining. I was playing with the fabric last night and under the light the silk goes from a blue to a mauve, quite irridescent, really pretty. Or do u have the same silk embroidered dresses from the 60s? I guess I've only come across flock and lame in my short vintage life!

I think the fabric looks 60's too, I've seen dresses made out of similar fabric that date from that period as well. The fabric looks like a lurex weave

 Ok, that's wonderful! Nice to pin this down. Late 50's/early 60's brocade lurex weave...it now has an identity bless it! Is there a market for this type of robe? Or is it best left in my own wardrobe?

ps Mary, I keep meaning 2 say that I really like your avatar, quite Georges Barbier'ish (she says tryin to sound knowledgable lol!) pps no insult intended to Nicole, sorry if it came across that way (I have a way of doing that!)
