Dressmaker Trims 1930/40s

I have a collection of dressmaker trim samples from the 1930/40's. Each has an attached label:
An Original Registered Design with ORIGINATORS GUILD of Stitchers, Embroiderers and Novelty Manufacturers, Inc. I, so far, can find no information on this organization. I came by this collection in New York City in the 1970's. Any clues or information would be appreciated.
 
...and in one of the links above I had a hard time reading the name associated with the Originators Guild, but I found that it was Carl L. Gartner. In the attached image from 1945 directory (the year the firm apparently eventually dissolved) you can see that Carl Gartner's business address (the reason for the 'b') was the same as the address of the Originators Guild, from the same directory.
