Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm having trouble pinpointing the date of this dress. I know it falls into the range of late 1800s to early 1900s, but am not sure where to go from there. Any ideas? Or good resources for reference in this era?

Thank you in advance!

Its so overexposed its hard to see all the details of seams and skirt fullness etc., but it looks right on for 1911-12. Any earlier and the skirt would be fuller, and probably a little longer, and any newer and the silhouette would be straighter.

What a lovely dress, with lots of lace insertion and tucking detail. I agree on the dating. Usually these dresses button up the back - it looks like you may have this on the form the wrong way round?

Hahah oops! That's why I need you guys! :) Thanks for the correction and the dating input. I'll re-photograph it a little bit darker this time (and the right way!)

Thanks so much! As always, you're so helpful!

Just wanted to say that dress is lovely, and this post has been useful for me too, I have a box of those buttons and had no idea what they were used for!

Really pretty Edwardian Dress, Jonathan is right on the date- the details would be great to see as machine made lace versus Irish lace versus needle bobbin lace can make a difference on quality. Looks like maybe a mix of machine and bobbin. Anyway, its pretty! The collar is kind of Gibson Girl - the big squarish design very indicative of the era, Nice Find!
