Early example of overlocking

Just sharing. Overlocking is much older than many think. This antique baby undershirt is dated 1908.

Overlocking has been around a very long time. Where are you seeing the overlocking? I can't tell on the vertical edge and the horizontal edge looks like crochet. It's quite pretty. C

Yes, the first image is a hand applied decorative edging. I am glad to know it is crochet. The vertical image is the shoulder seam. The label calls it a "flatlock ... seam" which I assume is a version of overlocking, but I may not be correct.
