eBay account problems - HELP!

I'm not sure if this is where I should post this.

I opened a new auction site for new and/or newer clothing recently and I am experiencing great difficulty as eBay seems to have cross wired the two accounts and getting eBay to listen and look at the problem has and is a trying experience, to put it mildly.

Notification of a pulled auction from chezmov showed up at the new account dont.tell.doris. I responded to that notification and two days later the notification suddenly appeared (as read) in chezmov and was deleted at dont.tell.doris (and not by me). And their reply to my inquiry was that they could see nothing wrong.

This morning I got a note from a chezmov client who is having trouble paying. I went to my emails and I have a note from Paypal saying there is a problem with dont.tell.doris and access to the account is denied - I have no sales going thru that account at the moment.

These are just a two of the half dozen mix ups. Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem? And how do I get eBay's attention? Half a dozen emails over the the two weeks are getting me nowhere.

All suggestions most welcome.

THANKS!

by any chance, do you have two separate emails and two separate Paypal accounts?? that should be a starting point, beyond that, i wouldn't know...

good luck, sounds hectic!:(

Thanks, Mary. Yes I do. Right now I feel like crying - not very helpful, I know - I just got off live chat with someone who was going to make sure my email and our chat (because they are not allowed to copy a chat a give it to someone - arggg) go to the right people and I tried to send and, of course, there are too many characters. I've been at this for weeks...

Oh how very frustrating. My husband has been logged in on his account and sent an email and it has somehow been sent from my 'hattysattic' account, even though I wasn't logged in anywhere at the time (all very confusing!), so I too have experienced ebay's account confusion.

At first I thought it was a cookies thing, but I never tick the 'keep me signed in on this computer' box just incase Finlay goes and purchases something by mistake, so it is an ebay problem.

Hope you can get this sorted out. Have you contacted Paypal about the chezmov account, and what did they say?

Oh Harriet, that is music to my ears - they have made me feel like I'm crazy!!! Not that I'm glad you experienced the same thing, of course, just to know I'm not alone - okay that doesn't sound right and I hope you know what I'm trying to say.

(and I am a little crazeeee, but the good kind - LOL)

Still waiting to hear from Paypal.

Hi Deborah
Harriet might be on the right track with cookies.
You could try clearing then all out first.

Because cookies can be turned off Ebay page will work this out and use what they call session variables instead these could be causing you the problems.
That's why you could not see my page once upon a time if you remember.
These should be destroyed each time you close your browser.
They are also time dependent on the setting on the Ebay server and will be and will be destroyed after a pre determined time .
Sorry to go all tech.

I have had the same problem and the solution I have used is to close down the browser and wait a few miniatures before login in again.

You may be right Paul - I'm not very savvy with computers and I will go and see where the cookies live on the browser. Another problem I have is if I go to my gmail account for say dont.tell.doris and I have a message from a client and then hit the eBay respond button on the message, it will go to the chezmov ebay account to respond.

Does this mean I should disable cookies? And where would I find cookies on ebay?

Thanks!

Clearing them out might do the trick, Disable cookies two schools of thought , some people do, other do not I not sure if that will make a differance to you
but you can try and see if it works , it is a setting in your browser which turns them off or on

Another thing, is do you use the "Log Out" button when leaving ebay or paypal, in theory this should do something but I have no clue to what it does.

Hi Deborah,

Do you log in and out of your accounts as you go on to use them...because you do need to do that when operating with 2 accounts on the same computer.

Sorry, I have not called my ebay manager of late...if I do I will remember to bring this up.

But do try first to sign out of your chezmov account on your my ebay page and then sign in to your dont.tell.doris account you may see the difference then.

Deborah, this is an ongoing problem with ebay, though not to the extent you've described (as far as I know).

I have a selling id and a secret bidding id, both of which have different email addresses. About two weeks ago I got an ASQ from a bidder about a pattern for sale under my vintagefashionlibrary id. The ASQ went to my secret bidding id, both in My eBay and by email. It even greeted me by my bidder id!

Another VFGer told me that it happens to her all the time.

Hi Laura, that has happened to me as well - a question from a potential buyer about an item on one account going to the inbox of the other account.

Ebay responded and said there was a problem a few weeks back and that is why the pulled notification message was addressed and sent to the wrong account and they claim all is fixed now. I beg to differ, but getting anyone to really address this problem appears fruitless.

I removed and disabled cookies. One of the problems I had is still there. I logged in to chezmov and on My Ebay page the "messages" shows two unread (and there are indeed two unread messages). I signed out and logged in to dont.tell.doris and the "messages" shows two unread, but there are no unread messages in my inbox. The "messages" always show the same amount of unread in both accounts even though they are always different.

I'll be responding to ebay's latest email and I'll keep you posted if anything new develops.

Thanks everyone!

Oh, yes, the "unread messages" thing has been screwy for quite a while. Months, in my case. I just ignore it, and any other ebay glitch that A) doesn't cost me money and B) doesn't keep me from conducting business. As you've said, it is impossible to get ebay to acknowledge a problem, let alone fix it!
