Ebay Bidding Question

Never heard this about Ebay! The Swiss auction site that I buy a fair amount of vintage patterns from works on the principle though that bids within the last few minutes will prolong the item's running for another 3 minutes. The few times that I did get into a bidding war, this nearly drove me mad. Thankfully, patterns are usually sold as BIN.

Interesting. Many other online auction sites do operate like this, as Karin says, to counter sniping and keep the auction going until the true highest price is realised. It's more like how a real life auction room auction works. However ebay has never done this, always had a fixed end time that doesn't change, so there is real advantage to the buyer to bid at the last moment, when no-one has a chance to counter-bid.

I couldn't find anything online about ebay having changed this. Perhaps they are experimenting?

Never having this happen it makes me wonder if there was a glitch in eBay's system.
You should give eBay a call to ask about it and make a report if the issue is unknown.

I don't think it's your browser. That doesn't make sense to me. The only thing regarding your computer that could cause old information to appear would be not clearing your cache or history.
The more urls you have whether it be from visiting a site, pages within that have url extensions, downloads, etc.; the more space it takes up and it gets full like when we overeat.
When this happens to me, particularly on eBay the same items show up as new on their home page that have really been listed for days.
I clear my cache and history and then new stuff will appear.
I don't know if that's the issue for you but that is the only thing I could think of if it were an issue with your computer.

This is news to me. It is not Ebay that is doing this. I also seriously doubt any of the sellers are doing anything unethical.
This is an odd situation for sure.

I can sense your frustration but there is an old saying "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater".

There are lots of great sellers and great items for sale on Ebay and I am sure you will want to get back in the bidding.

Let us know if you find out anything further on this strange experience you are having.
