Ebay sales

Hi there everyone, Ive only been selling vintage for about a year but have not been through this late summer slump.
Is this normal for the time of year. Not many lookers or buyers. I know Ebay changed the search format, but I don't understand whats going on. Thanks in advance for your comments, and I hope this is the correct forum.

Hello Robyn

I think quite a lot of sellers are experiencing low sales at the moment. Possibly due to the time of year (people are away on holiday etc) and perhaps something to do with the changes on eBay as well. The credit slum hasn't helped although people are still spending money.

I've still got a shop on eBay (for new items) but prefer to sell on Etsy these days. I really don't like the new eBay layout but I can only speak for myself on that score. My best advice is to spread your listings out and list regularly, rather than a whole bunch of stuff on one day. Keep your site looking as fresh and inviting as possible and perhaps offer reduced shipping to attract buyers in. Have a look at some of the power sellers and try and see if they're doing anything differently.

I'm sure things will improve once everyone is back from their holidays and starting to think about the autumn season. Stick in there and good luck

Yeah my ebay sales have been nada lately, maybe b/c I changed my items, or becasue of ebay's changes I'm not as into it as I was before, I thinkit might show or something - I'm lovin Etsy though! Not that sales are major for me there, I'm just lovin it :)

I think it's just a slow time of the year. Take the time to either do a sale or get your Fall stuff ready to roll out. :)

Yep, I agree....although the time of year sure hasn't stopped me from vintage shopping! I think I've bought more vintage over the past couple months than ever before! My credit card bill is kind of scary right now :BAGUSE: And I've got a whole list of vintage items bookmarked that I still want to buy!!!!

Do I hear you!! I sold some personal clothes today - I had ONE PENNY before I sold them - I laughed when I looked in my wallet for a coffee :)

And I have rocked the local vintage scene - so much great stuff, what's a girl to do?? :) Thank you everyone else for not shopping :) hehehe

Yeah ebay has been really slow lately... however if you are selling 40s/50s or "rockabilly-esq" clothing a lot of people will be looking now because there's a couple rockabilly events coming up like the us rockabilly rave in early oct. and the rockabilly high in early sept. a lot of people are looking into cute summer outfits, lurex/lame, hawaiian, halter dresses, animal prints are the usualy trends. Lame suim suits selling like hot cakes. I'm tempted to list my lame pants especailly because they are a rare XXL size but i can't imagine later not having them haha. anywho so if you play up your listings like telling them last chance to get this item before either event then maybe it will call attention to buyers like VLV time usually is.
