Edina and Lena hand knitted jumper

I was given this jumper years ago. I forgot I had it stored away. My Mum use to hand knit me jumpers when I was a kid. Which is why I loved this jumper. I love the embroidered flowers. Unfortunately its too small for me to wear now.
I have tried to search for a similar jumper but I understand that Edina and Lena knitted jumpers were one offs. Is this correct? Also could anyone tell me when roughly this was made. I thought maybe early 80's
Any info on this would be much appreciated. Thanks

In a newspaper database to which I subscribe the earliest reference I found to Edina & Lena was from 1979 and the latest one was 1984. There may be more references before and those dates, but those years seem to be the general parameters. In a 1982 article from a British newspaper I read: "Edina & Lena, one of the best known designer labels in this country, have expanded this cottage industry to what amounts to mass-production levels, employing around 1200 knitters in order to keep up with the constant demand that comes largely from America. Each sweater is hand-knitted, hand-finished and hand-checked. The most intricate sweater can take one knitter up to three weeks to complete on a part-time basis...."

Thank you for the info. Its great to know how much work went into making this jumper. And its crazy to think that I have something that's around 40 years old in my wardrobe that looks brand new.
