Edwardian Men’s Bathing Costume?

I’ve inherited what I believe to be a men’s Edwardian bathing outfit from a relative who I do remember talking about it from her younger years. So I believe it is authentic whatever it is! I’m guessing it’s Edwardian due to style. Shes no longer with us and I’d love to find out more about it.

it’s a one piece, navy, cotton (? No stretch) bathing outfit. Buttons at the shoulders which almost have a shell/pearl like quality to them. An attached belt at waist fastened by same type of shell. There is a (originally) white trim across shoulders, ends of sleeves/trousers and the belt. No label that I can see.

Are you sure this is for a man? It looks more like part of a woman's bathing costume.

I, too, think it looks like a women's bathing costume... either missing the overskirt, or it never had one.

It's a womens suit... my great grandmother had one like it. Sure made those 1960s pool parties a lot more fun lol

Thank you for the responses! I’ve no idea to be honest and I’m sure you are all correct about it being a ladies suit (I remember being told about it when I was much younger so my memory has confused things!).
