Edwardian \"Watters Buffalo\" black satin boots

I am posting these pics of a pair of leather-lined black satin lace-up boots (no laces!) from "Watters Buffalo" on behalf of a friend.

My under-educated guess (based solely on a terrific thread I found in the VFG archive...) is that they're 1915-ish? Would these have been for evening/fancy dress as opposed to every day?

And has anyone heard of this label before? Thanks so much for your help!

Don't know the label but your dating is probalby correct, I would err on the slightly newer side, c. 1917 just because of the elongated vamp and pointed toe, 1915 is a titch early for that length in the vamp but the toe isn;' super pointy so its not after 1919. They would have been called Grecian boots, Tango boots, or Sandal boots in their day. These do sell well on eBay, more than I think they are usually worth! but I would, if you can, put them on a leg, at least one of them, with a light coloured stocking and use black ribbon to show how they look. It seems to sell them better.
