Egyptian Print Blouse

Phew...two in one day - I apologize. I only post again because I keep forgetting about this little blouse and I am curious. If I don't do it while I am thinking about it...well who knows when it might happen!

I have been looking for info on novelty print blouses etc (was just looking at the flickr stream of novelty prints) but haven't seen anything too similar. It is a cute blouse - it buttons up the back and has two cute little bows at the hemline on front. Ra-Mil of Boston is only tag. Honestly, it probably isn't to my taste but I thought there was possibly a following for print blouses like this.

I know this is probably a stylized Eyptian print but would love thoughts on dating and/or any other thoughts. Trying to research company without much luck. Should I be calling this a novelty print?

Thanks again!!!!!
Maureen

I'm going to say early 1960's. I have had 2 dresses in this EXACT Egyptian Novelty Print. One was a shirt dress with a full skirt that sold to an Egyptologist who worked in a museum in France and the other was a sundress with full skirt. Both were different brands so I believe that this fabric was widely available commercially. It is a great print though and I think the blouse is quite cute.

Adorable top! I love these 60's short blouses with the little seam vents and bows.

Why don't manufacturers make such cute things nowadays (or at least, ones that normal people can afford....)?

I think so too Amber, as to early.
You're well-versed with this print!

;) I love this print and would jump at the opportunity at one of the dresses in my size with it. I think this was the first time that I ever found 2 vintage dresses in the same print and I remember being excited about it!
