Embroidered Sheer Men\'s Shirt - Need Help

I don't even know if this is vintage. It is
a very crisp (and sheer) organdy with
a hidden button placket underneath the
embroidered and drawnwork front bib.

Would this be for a wedding? Any help on this would be most appreciated.

I still have to take a pic of the label, however it was made in the Philippines.

Two things throw me off on this shirt. 1) i am not used to seeing sheer men's dress shirts. it's an unusual fabric for it 2) To me, the collar is an interesting juxtaposition. I would expect it to have softer angles or be similarly embellished. But perhaps if worn with some type of tie or neckscarf it would be purely utilitarian.

I don't know Sue if this is traditional dress for a culture and not actually vintage. I really am not sure. I'll have to think on this a bit

Hi Sue
I doubt that the shirt is vintage. The overall look is not quite vintage looking. Its probably a cultural type shirt but very attractive and if you are selling and it is not too large you might want to suggest it as suitable for women to wear.

Thank you Barbara! This has 14-1/2 marked on the collar, so it is not
overly big and I like your idea of promoting it for a gal too.

I'm really thinking there may be some kind of cultural use for this type of
shirt.
