Emilio Pucci Label

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone could help a date this label, and if they had seen any vintage pucci labels with the made in Hong Kong along the side instead of the usual Made in Italy.

From looking at the garment I would date it early 1970s. I did not notice the made in Hong Kong down the side of the label when purchasing it from a vintage shop in Paris, and I normally spot most things.

Many thanks.

Hi Jane, I think you're right to be wary and seek further help with this - as I cannot see another example of a Pucci label in our resource marked Made in Hong Kong and it strikes me as something typically seen on either older (50s/60's) or newer (80s/90s) things than a 1970s dress.

Does it have any other labels you can show? such as a care label?

I googled "vintage Emilio Pucci labels" and 2 at the top of the images listing, so I will await some more answers on here or check with colleagues in London. It was purchased from a higly respected and well known shop in the Puces, I just need to do a little more research.

Many thanks.

I was correct about the date, it is a 1970s shirt from the print. I have found a picture of a dress exactly the same print as this shirt, but any more info would be really helpful.

There was a lot of fashion manufacturing in HK during the '70s, especially menswear. Some of the quality is very high too.

I'm not an expert on Pucci but tried the same google search and no HK labels were returned.

Thank you; that one didn't arrive for me. Google is very helpful and if you've searched for HK previously, it will try to give you results that it thinks match your needs. It's unhelpful at times (for example, if you search for yourself or your business, you will get favourable results but it doesn't mean that's what your customers are getting.
